"Creating the Greenest Communities" Launch
Posted on: Wednesday, 06 January 2010
The Suffolk Climate Change Partnership is launching ‘Creating the Greenest Communities’ – a support network for new or established ‘green’ communities.
Hosted by a different community every month, the Network will visit leading projects across the county giving groups the opportunity to talk about their experiences and share what they have learned. Advisors will be on hand to discuss issues such as funding or communications, and future events will host themed training and workshops on a range of 'green' topics.
The Network is being launched at Great Barton Village Hall on Saturday 6th February. This first event will run as a day of open workshops, providing a forum for existing and new groups to meet together to provide inspiration and learning from their own communities.
‘There are so many creative ideas being put into action around the country now its time to celebrate all that’s been achieved so far and to look at what the future could be’ says David Walton, Manager of the Suffolk Climate Change Partnership. ‘Communities and Individuals have a vital role in helping to reduce the effects of climate change and help Suffolk to become the greenest county’
The network will be open to individuals who are already part of an environmental community, those looking to start a new group, parish councils, religious groups, sports clubs and any not for profit organisations based in Suffolk.
Whether you’re a full blown Transition Town or just a curious parish, come along to find out what is happening around the county and how you can join in.
