SSP Board Terms of Reference

Objectives

  • Discuss the long term vision for Suffolk with the agreement of all partners.
  • Promote innovation amongst partners to achieve change which improves how shared outcomes are delivered in Suffolk.
  • Foster collaboration amongst partners to achieve the delivery of Community Strategy and LAA2.
  • Oversee the management of Suffolk’s Community Strategy and LAA2.
  • Hold regular high profile events to engage wider partners and reinforce commitment.

New Members

The SSP Board will consider approaches from organisations wishing to become a member of the Board. Organisations should make a written approach to the Chair of the SSP setting out the reasons for wishing to take up a place and the added value that the organisation can bring to the Board. This submission will be reviewed by the SSP Board for agreement.

Roles and Responsibilities of Members

Members should consider the broader issues across all areas of the partnership relating to Suffolk and the improvement performance and should not pursue issues relating to individual organisation.

Members can nominate one substitute to attend meetings in their absence. Names of substitutes should be provided to the Partnerships Administrator following the first meeting.

If members do not attend, or send a substitute, to three consecutive meetings then their place will be withdrawn and, if appropriate, a new member will be sort to fill their place.

Frequency of Meetings

Meeting will take place at least three times a year and dates confirmed at the beginning of each year.

Exit Strategy

If the SSP Board were to dissolve before the end of the LAA2 period, Suffolk County Council, as the Accountable Body, will be responsible for ensuring that adequate mechanisms for partnership working are in place to delivery Suffolk’s Community Strategy and LAA2.
